Wiggins and Haxtun are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Fightin' Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiggins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Wiggins came out on top against Yuma on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Tigers took their contest against the Outlaws 13-8.
Larry Garcia and Marcus Steinbar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Garcia tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Steinbar tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Garcia posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five games. At bat, Garcia got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Steinbar got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one double. Garcia also got three hits, which is notable because Wiggins is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 5-7 otherwise.

Wiggins is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Haxtun, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Wiggins came out on top in a nail-biter against Haxtun in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Fightin' Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
