Softball Recap: Wylie East Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Wylie East, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let North Garland get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. With that win, Wylie East brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

KP Walters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Flores, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 14 games. Gabby Flores was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Wylie East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Wylie East now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for North Garland, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Wylie East and North Garland will both be playing Sachse the next time they take the field. Wylie East will head out to face Sachse at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while North Garland will host them at 6:30 p.m. on March 11th.
