West Lafayette has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Seeger Patriots at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (West Lafayette is ranked 195th, while Seeger is ranked 186th).
Even though West Lafayette has not done well against Western recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. West Lafayette took down Western 45-30. Despite the win, that was the fewest points West Lafayette has scored all year.
Meanwhile, Seeger unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Fountain Central 47-41. Seeger has not had much luck with Fountain Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Christian Holland put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Pluimer, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
West Lafayette now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Seeger, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
West Lafayette didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Seeger in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 81-75 win.
