There's no place like home for The Memorial Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Creekview 24-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Memorial also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Creekview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Dre Richardson, who rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Richardson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Jett Chaney was another key contributor, throwing for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes.
Even if they lost, Creekview's defense sure didn't make it easy: Memorial's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Destine Deans and his two sacks.
Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Creekview, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Creekview will be playing in front of their home fans against Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Argyle's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
