Three Rivers and Charlotte are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Three Rivers will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Three Rivers beat Brackett 9-5.

Lathan Meyer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, James Contreras was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Xavier Carranza was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Charlotte hadn't done well against Sabinal recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Yellowjackets 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Like Three Rivers, Charlotte also got a great game from a two-way player: Josh Gaitan. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Gaitan has become a key player for Charlotte: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 3-9 otherwise. Gaitan was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Sanchez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Preston Castillo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Three Rivers' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Three Rivers took their win against Charlotte in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
