Basketball Recap: Twin Loup Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Twin Loup lost to Sandhills Valley back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Twin Loup Wolves snuck past the Sandhills Valley Mavericks with a 37-31 win. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Twin Loup's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yahya Harris led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to six boards and four blocks. Harris' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmett Sortum, who posted seven points and 12 rebounds.

The victory (which was Twin Loup's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Sandhills Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Twin Loup wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-52 defeat against Riverside on the 21st. Sandhills Valley and Maxwell will round out the year against one another at on Friday. Sandhills Valley is facing Maxwell at the right time seeing as Maxwell is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
