It was a good run, but the Chilton County Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-47 walloping at the hands of Pike Road. Chilton County lost against Pike Road in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-41 score last time.
Chilton County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iasia Anderson, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten assists, and ten steals. Anderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ishunti Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Chilton County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Pike Road, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Chilton County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stanhope Elmore at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Pike Road will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bainbridge at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th.
