The Central A & M Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Altamont on the road and fell 63-35. While losing is never fun, Central A & M can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Altamont is ranked 171st).
Altamont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaidyn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Eli Miller was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Central A & M has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Altamont, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central A & M will take on Warrensburg-Latham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Altamont, they will play host again and welcome Hillsboro, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
