The Marine City Mariners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 69-44 loss at the hands of Lakeview. Marine City has not had much luck with Lakeview recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Mariners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liam Adams, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. Adams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Danny VandeVyver was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Marine City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Lakeview, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Marine City will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Clair presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marine City in Michigan (St. Clair is ranked 236th, while Marine City is ranked 649th). As for Lakeview, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Huron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
