Stroudsburg has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pleasant Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Mountaineers will look to defend their home field against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Stroudsburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Pleasant Valley will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Stroudsburg extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Mountaineers never let Pocono Mountain West get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.
Not much got past Jordan Cook, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Pocono Mountain West off the board.

On the hitting side, Katren Lavra was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dorothy Elko, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 14-6 to East Stroudsburg South. Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cavaliers since on Thursday.
Jovie Valenzuela was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more doubles the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lydia Borger, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Stroudsburg pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Stroudsburg's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Mountaineers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Pleasant Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Stroudsburg continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Stroudsburg's way against Pleasant Valley in their previous meeting back in April, as Stroudsburg made off with a 10-3 win. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
