The Timpanogos Timberwolves will take on the Uintah Utes at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Timpanogos got the win against Provo by a conclusive 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Uintah waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Utes have posted against the Tigers since April 9, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Lynlie Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Leena Sharp, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Uintah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Timpanogos' victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Uintah, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Timpanogos hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Uintah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Timpanogos might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Uintah in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Timberwolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
