There wasn't a lot of overall movement in the power rankings this week, but with 14 teams changing position, that doesn't mean the week lacked for thrills. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Mitchell's 55 - 20 win over Douglas last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Kiel Nelson. Nelson rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made Nelson one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton this week as the team hoisted itself up five places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past Winner 30 - 28. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between O'Gorman (2nd in the power rankings) and Roosevelt (1st). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out which team fails to repeat its success.
