The Madonna Blue Dons will challenge the Brooke Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Madonna took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jefferson County Christian a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Blue Dons have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendal Ryan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Ryan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Madison Owens and Peyton Conley did most of the damage at the plate: Owens went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Conley went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Conley continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tina Littleton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Madonna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Brooke made easy work of Catholic Central on Monday and carried off a 15-0 victory. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like Madonna, Brooke also got a great game from a two-way player: Eden McKinney. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. McKinney has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Avery Rado was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Avary Martino was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Brooke's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Madonna, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Madonna skirted past Brooke 8-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Blue Dons repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
