The Morrisville-Eaton Warriors will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cooperstown Hawkeyes at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Saturday, Morrisville-Eaton ended up a good deal behind the Cougars and lost 86-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (62), Morrisville-Eaton still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Cooperstown was able to grind out a solid victory over the Marauders on Friday, taking the game 73-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cooperstown.
It was another big night for Charlie Lambert, who scored 27 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Lambert is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Morrisville-Eaton dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Cooperstown, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Things could have been worse for Morrisville-Eaton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-53 loss to the Hawkeyes in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lambert, who scored 39 points along with five assists and four steals. Now that Morrisville-Eaton knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
