The Parker Thundering Herd on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Minor Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Monday, Parker came up short against Carver Birmingham and fell 50-42.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Minor, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Homewood on Friday. While losing is never fun, Minor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Homewood is ranked 20th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Isaiah Mcclain, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Chatman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Parker's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Minor, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
Parker came out on top in a nail-biter against Minor in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 39-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
