The Los Fresnos Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hanna 52-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Los Fresnos also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Los Fresnos was led to victory by Gio Galvan and Andrew Munoz. Galvan dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Munoz scored 15 points. Galvan hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jj Salazar, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Hanna still got an impressive performance from Beto Galarza, who scored 24 points along with six steals. Jesus Leal was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Hanna struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Los Fresnos racked up 11 assists.
Los Fresnos is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. As for Hanna, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11.
Los Fresnos will head out on the road to face off against the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Benito is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Hanna will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
