After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mercersburg Academy, the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Avalon by a score of 74-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Simmons scored a full 52.2% of Avalon's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The victory got St. John's Catholic Prep back to even at 1-1. As for Avalon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
St. John's Catholic Prep will square off against Benedictine at TBD on Monday. Avalon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Hope Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (New Hope Academy is ranked 21st, while Avalon is ranked 29th).
