The Bellevue Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forestburg. That's two games in a row now that Bellevue has lost by exactly six points.
Forestburg found their leader in underclassman Brenna Briles, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Briles has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Lili Cisneros was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Bellevue has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Forestburg, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Slidell the next time they take the court. Forestburg will head out to face Slidell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bellevue will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
