North Davidson is a perfect 7-0 against West Davidson since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Knights will venture away from home to take on the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. North Davidson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
North Davidson is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Reagan just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.
Rileigh Barker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, North Davidson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, West Davidson waltzed into their game last Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 6-3.
West Davidson also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Hannah Rollins gave up three earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Gracie Michael and Meghan Leonard did most of the damage at the plate: Michael went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Leonard went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That double was Michael's first of the season.
West Davidson's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for North Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Davidson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like West Davidson struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Davidson was able to grind out a solid victory over West Davidson in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
