The Higbee Tigers came tearing into Monday's game with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Southwest 77-38 on the road. Higbee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Southwest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Hughes has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Grant Warren, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Higbee's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Higbee will look to defend their home court on Monday against Braymer at 7:30 p.m. Higbee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,240 points over their last 17 matchups. Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
