Given Ridgecroft's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Raiders are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ridgecroft's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Slaughter, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Chamblee, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Ridgecroft's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.
