The Centennial Broncos scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Centura 59-36. The win was familiar territory for Centennial who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Slawnyk, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Hirschfeld, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Centura lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Gorecki. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Centura, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will face off against Fillmore Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centura, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Paul at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
