San Diego is 0-4 against University City since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cavers are taking a road trip to square off against the Centurions at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, San Diego made easy work of Escondido and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavers.
Myah Reyes-Rickman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison McNamara, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Alyssa Miranda-Wallace was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for University City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Tri-City Christian with a sharp 11-1 victory last Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Centurions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
University City also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Aliyah Padilla gave up a run (which was unearned) on six hits.
At the plate, Camdyn McDonald was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Shiloh Larson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs.
University City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
University City's record is now 6-7. As for San Diego, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.
San Diego might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from University City in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Cavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
