Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 last Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Tigers. That's two games straight that the Dorados have won by just one run.
Amelia Streuber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taya Kelly, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Herman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Canyon del Oro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marana only posted an OBP of .379.
Canyon del Oro's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.1 runs. As for Buckeye, their record is now 15-11.
