Castle View is 1-8 against Regis Jesuit since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sabercats will welcome the Raiders at 4:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Castle View's win against Rock Canyon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sabercats had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sabercats have posted since March 18th.

Ethan Scott tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Derek Gordon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Samuel Harry was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 8-6.
Alexander Denny looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Regis Jesuit let Isak Stevenson and Christian Lopez run wild. Stevenson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI, while Lopez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacob Olson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Regis Jesuit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponderosa only managed six hits.
Castle View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Regis Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Both Castle View and Regis Jesuit just can't seem to miss. The Sabercats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
