Central Valley Academy is 8-2 against the Express since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Central Valley Academy Thunder have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Oneida Express at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Central Valley Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matches -- so hopefully the Express like a good challenge.
Central Valley Academy can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-29 win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. While fans of Central Valley Academy might be used to big wins, the 42-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Deacon Judd was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Judd is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Luke, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oneida pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-67 bruising from Holland Patent. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), Oneida still had to take the loss.
Central Valley Academy pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Oneida, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything came up roses for Central Valley Academy against the Express in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 75-43 win. Does Central Valley Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Express turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
