Jamestown unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fredonia Hillbillies on Friday. Fredonia found their leader in freshman Sophia Utegg, who threw for 107 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 95 yards.
The victory made it two in a row for Fredonia and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Jamestown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fredonia, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lackawanna at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. The game will give the Hillbillies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
