The Santa Rosa Academy Rangers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Milken Wildcats on February 13th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Santa Rosa Academy walked away with it. They skirted past the Mustangs 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Santa Rosa Academy was the better team in the second half.
They hit Rancho Verde with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Kaden Maxwell-Garcia,
Dominic Zagone, and
Dylan Geske.
Whittier Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Milken proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Heralds onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Milken has won by exactly one goal.
Santa Rosa Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Milken, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5-1.
Santa Rosa Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Milken in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Rosa Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
