The Bingham Miners will head out on the road to take on the Herriman Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Herriman took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bingham, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Bingham got the win against Westlake by a conclusive 3-0. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Bingham not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Westlake between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.
Bingham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenn Truong, who had 16 digs and three aces. Ava Morley was another key player, getting 15 assists and seven digs.
Meanwhile, Herriman faced Mountain Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Sentinels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Herriman took Mountain Ridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 17-15.
Bingham's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Herriman, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
Bingham might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Herriman in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
