Nicholas County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Midland Trail Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Nicholas County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Nicholas County ended up a good deal behind the Panthers and lost 57-43.
Despite the loss, Nicholas County had strong showings from Trey Stump, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Isaiah Miner, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Brown, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Midland Trail entered their tilt with the Bobcats with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Midland Trail came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 61-53 on Saturday.
Nicholas County's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Midland Trail, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Nicholas County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Patriots when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nicholas County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
