Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on Altamonte Christian with a sharp 20-4 victory. Considering Trinity Christian Academy has won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Trinity Christian Academy let Melany Martinez and Kay'La Jones run wild. Martinez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Jones went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataly Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Trinity Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Altamonte Christian only posted an OBP of .500.

Trinity Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Altamonte Christian, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Coming up, Trinity Christian Academy will challenge Geneva at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. Altamonte Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
