Even though the Lee's Summit North Broncos have not done well against the Rockhurst Hawklets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lee's Summit North snuck past Rockhurst with a 67-61 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Rockhurst lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Maher. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maher has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Moylan, who scored nine points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Lee's Summit North and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Rockhurst, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee's Summit North will take on Ruskin at TBD on Monday. Ruskin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Lee's Summit North is ranked 90th). As for Rockhurst, they will be playing at home against Pembroke Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pembroke Hill is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
