Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Regis Groff

Arrupe Jesuit came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Regis Groff, but Jamal Bailly wouldn't allow it. The Regis Groff Fusion came out on top against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals by a score of 61-52 on Thursday thanks in part to Bailly, who went 10 of 24 on his way to 30 points and seven rebounds. Those 30 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Davonte Robinson, who posted ten points along with seven boards and seven steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

Several Generals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Martinez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards. Manuel Loya was another key player, putting up 14 points.

The win made it two in a row for Regis Groff and bumps their season record up to 4-4. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Regis Groff will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-48 loss against Conifer on the 20th.
