The Delone Catholic Squires had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Millersburg 48-20 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-5.
Millersburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Schreffler, who scored 4 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Heintzelman, who scored 7 points.
Delone Catholic's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Millersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delone Catholic will take on Camp Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Millersburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Shore Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m.
