The Arvada Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lake County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Arvada entered their tilt with the Timberwolves with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Arvada escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Timberwolves by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60.
Arvada's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Lake led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds. Lake is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Brandon Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, Lake County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 88-62 margin over Bruce Randolph. Lake County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Martinez, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ayers, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Arvada's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Lake County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Arvada have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lake County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Arvada took a serious blow against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 91-38. Thankfully for Arvada, Adrian Medina (who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
