The Windermere Prep Lakers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Windermere 85-82. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windermere Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Bass Jr., who scored 24 points along with two steals. Bass Jr. has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Shoptaw, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Windermere Prep's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Windermere, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7.
Windermere Prep will take on Lake Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Highland Prep will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Windermere, they will head out on the road to square off against The First Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The First Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Windermere is ranked 29th).
