The Sonora Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the El Capitan Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonora will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Sonora scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Lathrop at home to the tune of 78-47. Sonora might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 20 points or more this season.
Sonora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Wright out in front who scored 18 points. The matchup was Wright's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Curran, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, El Capitan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 54-48 to Beyer.
Sonora's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for El Capitan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Sonora couldn't quite finish off El Capitan in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 and fell 54-52. Can Sonora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
