The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos will face off against the Washington Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Washington will be up against a hot La Joya Community squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Fighting Lobos were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Copper Canyon on Thursday. Considering the Fighting Lobos have won seven matchups by more than 13 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Isabel Soares made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Soares was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Anaya Romero was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more RBI the last 11 times she's played. Mariah Lozano was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
La Joya Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Canyon only posted an OBP of .350.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Sierra Linda 12-10.
Washington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for La Joya Community, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
La Joya Community couldn't quite get it done against Washington when the teams last played back in March of 2018 as they fell 7-3.
