The Gardendale Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Gadsden City Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, Gardendale lost to Hueytown on the road by a decisive 47-28 margin. Gardendale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mac Beason, who threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Beason hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for five straight games. Logan Fitzgerald also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Gardendale's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Hueytown's QB was sacked seven times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Gadsden City waltzed into two weeks ago's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They breezed by Calera at home to the tune of 46-0. Considering Gadsden City has won six matches by more than 21 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Hueytown's win pushed their record up to 7-3, while Gardendale's defeat dropped theirs down to 3-7.
