Centennial hasn't had much luck against Bishop Gorman recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Gaels at 6:00 p.m.
Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Arbor View, who was ranked third at the time (Centennial was ranked 11th). The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aggies on Wednesday.
While Centennial ultimately came up short, they really made Arbor View work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 29-27, 18-25, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Centennial had strong showings from Dalilah Carvajal, who had nine digs and four aces, and Hazel Jauregui, who had 22 digs. Carvajal is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Falcons 3-0.
Bishop Gorman not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Foothill between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.
Centennial better focus on containing Chloe Lopez and Ayanna Watson as the pair were huge in Bishop Gorman's win. Lopez had nine digs and three aces, while Watson hit 68.8% for 12 kills and 11 digs and three aces. The last time Watson's hitting percentage was this high was back in November of 2024.
Bishop Gorman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only served two.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 20-16. As for Bishop Gorman, their record is now 28-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Centennial has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Bishop Gorman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Centennial suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Bishop Gorman in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
