Aspermont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Guidry, who scored six points along with six steals and five rebounds. Guidry is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Johnson, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Newcastle and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for Aspermont, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newcastle will face off against Graford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Graford will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
