The Trego Golden Eagles were the 49-15 winner over the Ellis Railroaders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Trego fell to the Railroaders 49-45. Trego has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ellis found their leader in underclassman Aiden Aschenbrenner, who scored 21 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aschenbrenner has scored at least a third of Ellis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaren Frickey, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Trego has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Ellis, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Trego will take on the Indians on Tuesday. Hoxie is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Ellis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.
