Kayden Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out 16 batters over 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Smith and Big Sandy will be playing at home against Alba-Golden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Smith's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Wildcats' three-game streak of wins at home.
