Baseball Game Preview: Normal West Wildcats vs. Champaign Central Maroons

For the second straight game, Normal West will face off against Champaign Central. The Wildcats will face off against the Maroons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Normal West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Normal West will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Champaign Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Maroons 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Chase Knuth, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Brady Hart also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Normal West's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Champaign Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7-1.
