The Yorktown Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of McLean by a score of 64-61. Yorktown has not had much luck with McLean recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Yorktown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brennan Pilot, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Maria, who scored 16 points.
Yorktown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for McLean, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yorktown will take on Washington-Liberty at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for McLean, they will be playing in front of their home fans against George C. Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. George C. Marshall is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
