The Spanish River Sharks will square off against the Forest Hill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Forest Hill took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Spanish River, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, everything went Spanish River's way against Somerset Academy - Canyons as Spanish River made off with a 10-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.
Jesse Chimenti made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Roman Zabala, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shane Price, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Forest Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seminole Ridge.
Forest Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Seal, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Seal also put up two hits, which werehis first of the season. Ryan Gonzalez was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Forest Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Spanish River, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
