On Friday Delta Academy will take on Delta Streets Academy at 7:00 PM. Both teams have set a high bar for this matchup after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
After constant struggles on the road, Delta Academy have finally found some success away from home. They put the hurt on Calhoun Academy with a sharp 60-38 win. Delta Academy found their leader in underclassman sophomore Caleb West, who passed for 294 yards and 4 touchdowns. West has now scored at least one touchdown in the past three games.
Meanwhile, don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise DeSoto and Delta Streets Academy were playing football. Delta Streets Academy suffered a grim 54-80 defeat to DeSoto last Friday. It was a tough break for Delta Streets Academy, who improved upon an already decent score from two weeks ago but lost both times.
Delta Academy's victory lifted them to 4-6 while Delta Streets Academy's defeat dropped them down to 4-5. Delta Streets Academy's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Delta Academy defensive front that amassed five sacks against Calhoun Academy, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
