After two games on the road, Fivay is heading back home. They will take on The Hudson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Fivay earned a 27-15 win over River Ridge. The win was just what Fivay needed coming off of a 54-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
Fivay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Monfre, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a touchdown. Monfre's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Ayden Wallace was another key contributor, throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding River Ridge to a paltry 217 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Fivay's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out eight times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Hudson can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Anclote at home to the tune of 52-0. The victory was just what Hudson needed coming off of a 49-18 loss in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Logan Shawell, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony (Aj) Mcfarlane, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fivay is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Fivay suffered a grim 34-14 defeat to Hudson in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Fivay have more luck at home instead of on the road?
