AAAAA Region 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Lakeside was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in AAAAA Region 2. The Panthers vanquished Grovetown 21-17 earlier in the week.
Warner Robins was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Jones County. The Demons came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Houston County's Taylor Boyett and Myles White have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Boyett has thrown for 387 yards this season, while White has 10 catches for 173 yards. Greenbrier's Jeremy Harden leads the league in rushing yards with 357.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Evans takes on the Greyhounds. As it stands, the Knights are in fourth, while Jones County is in third.
Northside extended the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 2 this week by beating the Bears, 41-3. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
