The Pittsfield Generals waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Minnechaug Regional 61-47. For Pittsfield, this counts as revenge for the 50-45 loss Minnechaug Regional walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 12th.
Pittsfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyana Summers, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals. Summers is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre'Jai Ellerbee, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Pittsfield pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Minnechaug Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will take on Chicopee Comp at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westfield at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Westfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
